Things that have been keeping me away from the Internet

Work. I’m genuinely very busy at work where I would otherwise spend most of my Tumblr/reddit/Twitter/Facebook time. This is good because it means I have a job where I’m still valuable. Not that unemployment doesn’t have its own allures.

I’m being sued. Or, I was. This was keeping me busy until a day ago. I was being sued for a three-year-old car accident that I didn’t cause (and was lucky to escape from alive). All witnesses, police and insurance companies involved unanimously agreed that is was the sole fault of one party. That party however is a self-insured (more professional sounding way of saying uninsured apparently) trucking company who was doing anything it could to try to put the blame on anyone else. However, given that there were no facts in their favor and even their false description of the scenario would still indicate it to be their fault (which is the looniest part in my mind) the whole thing has come across to me a fairly desperate and ill-advised pursuit. It was basically described to me as an attempt to hopefully inimidate some other party into making a concession, or hopes that just maybe I would appear to be reckless or unreliable enough to convince a jury that I must have been at fault. Well, with the actual trial date less than a week away, the plaintiff pulled out yesterday. This is probably because the whole thing was a desperate long-shot built on lies to start with. Regardless, I’m glad it’s done.

Killing Zombies (’ Always a priority.)

Season 4 of The Wire (Like I said, I’m a busy guy.)

My continued adventures in exercise and healthy living. I continue to become stronger and more comfortable and confident in my body and my own physical abilities. I feel like I’m in a new body and continue to enjoy the process. I do not however look any better naked (yet).

An active attempt to reverse signs of a deteriorating attention span/information addiction. I just need to spend a little more free time reading books again. It’s not that I don’t want to follow your every move and click little hearts on all of you all day long…

Which is exactly why I’ve purchased these packages of stickers.

In the coming weeks I will be following all of you around, hiding in your private space at work and at home. Whenever you do something delightful I will place a sticker somewhere on your person. I will try to be subtle about it so that finding the stickers is a disconcerting surprise (not unlike spider-bites or the suggestive bruises you might find after a night of heavy drinking).  It might sometimes have to wait until you are asleep. I love the way you guys look while you’re sleeping. ’ All curled up warm under your blankets, drooling a little, the occasional apneated gasp; it’s adorable.

I’ll be seeing you all soon!
